Salad Sabotage
September 28, 2007
I’ve been telling people for years that the act of ordering a salad is not a guarantee that your meal will be healthy. To help convince you, AOL has made a list of 10 Unhealthy Restaurant Salads that prove this point and why. You will notice, however, that the dressings are many times the reason that these get the thumbs down.
My Tip: Always ask for the dressing on the side and then dip your fork into it before each bite. This ensures proper lettuce/dressing ratio as well as cuts your calories! It also allows you to take home the rest of the salad without it becoming soggy.
The Elegance of Eggplant
September 26, 2007
Not only do I enjoy the tone of this article but I agree with her sentiments of the eggplant. Although I have a few eggplant favorites, we never build a meal around them. She includes a couple of recipes at the bottom of the article and I just might tackle one for Fit Life….we’ll see!
