Do you need a portion control diet?

You eat healthy food but still not losing weight… what do you do?

It’s not just about WHAT you eat but HOW MUCH you eat. Controlling portions is key to losing and maintaining weight and I’ve got some tricks to help you both when you are home and when you’re dining out.


Eating at home:
  • Smaller Plates – Use the salad plate instead of a dinner plate so the smaller portions won’t look so dinky.
  • Plate everything and really focus on serving sizes of all foods, you will become more aware of how much you should be eating.

Dining Out:

  • Order an appetizer as an entree or ask for the lunch or kids size portion.  Its fewer calories, plus its usually cheaper!
  • Ask for a to-go box when your food is served and then immediately box 1/2 of it up.  Less calories and lunch for tomorrow!

A portion control diet is one of the easiest ways to control your calorie intake, and therefore, your weight. I’m a big fan of eating what you want as long as its in moderation and amongst healthy food items as well!
