{"id":517,"date":"2007-12-09T19:29:56","date_gmt":"2007-12-10T03:29:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.withamymac.com\/news\/about-me\/"},"modified":"2017-08-11T11:34:10","modified_gmt":"2017-08-11T17:34:10","slug":"about-me","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.withamymac.com\/news\/about-me\/","title":{"rendered":"About Amy Mac"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"amy mac bio\" href=\"http:\/\/www.withamymac.com\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-8003\" style=\"margin: 10px 2px 10px 2px;\" title=\"amy mac bio\" src=\"http:\/\/www.withamymac.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/cropped-36981-558x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"276\" height=\"512\" \/><\/a>Originally from a small town in Indiana and having spent her adult life living in Chicago, San Francisco, and Nashville, Amy has been an entrepreneur with a variety of personal interests including collegiate rowing, dance and musical theater.\u00a0 She graduated from Purdue University in 2002 with a B.S. in Organizational Leadership and Supervision from the School of Technology.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Following graduation, she began working as a personal service advisor at a bank while continuing to participate in theater and dance.\u00a0 Amy quickly learned that she was not cut out for a 9-5 job, and instead moved to Chicago on a dance scholarship and helped her husband start a screen printing company.\u00a0 Opportunity moved them to Nashville, TN in 2004 and she continued to dance, manage the screen printing company and Anrovia Design (a web design and consulting company), and simultaneously began her career in fitness training.<\/p>\n<p>During this time, her husband, Chris McIntyre, created <a title=\"largest podcast directory\" href=\"http:\/\/www.podcastalley.com\">PodcastAlley.com<\/a>; the venture quickly became the first, largest and most popular podcast directory and was responsible for populating the initial iTunes directory.\u00a0 This provided the opportunity to partner with the entertainment network and a move to San Francisco.<\/p>\n<p>Once in California, Amy came to realize that fitness was her passion, and that she could do more with it.\u00a0 She initiated this career by first pursuing a certification in personal fitness training from SDSU in 2005; she subsequently added NASM and AFAA. It was also in California that Amy first began applying her knowledge practically by working full-time as a trainer and by educating clients on health and fitness.<\/p>\n<p>Amy took her career to the next level in June 2005 by beginning her first audio show:\u00a0<em><a title=\"fitness attack rss feed\" href=\"http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/wam\">Fitness Attack<\/a><\/em>.\u00a0 Due to the astounding results from and reception of the initial show, Amy quickly added two additional programs:\u00a0\u00a0<em><a title=\"assercize rss feed\" href=\"http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/assercize\">Assercize<\/a><\/em> in 2005 and\u00a0<em><a title=\"fit life rss feed\" href=\"http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/fitlife\">Fit Life<\/a><\/em> in 2007.\u00a0 The premise behind each of the shows was to provide small amounts of information in a manner that was readily understandable.\u00a0\u00a0<em>Assercize, <\/em>originally developed for MTV&#8217;s Adam Curry, is an audio show that walks you through a new booty-sculpting move every week.\u00a0\u00a0<em>Fit Life<\/em> is a video show that gives you fitness tips, teaches exercises, reviews fitness products and even provides recipes or information on how to make wiser food choices.\u00a0 Essentially, each program was designed to target a distinct aspect of health or fitness and was formatted to provide tips that could be easily integrated into the lives of everyday consumers.<\/p>\n<p>Building on the success of the programs and the lively reception of the formats by the public, Amy was prompted to publish her first book,\u00a0<em><a title=\"fitness attack with amy mac book\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/1435704568?tag=wamwithamymac-20&amp;camp=14573&amp;creative=327641&amp;linkCode=as1&amp;creativeASIN=1435704568&amp;adid=04NWAEHPAZR29X6S0467&amp;\">Fitness Attack with Amy Mac<\/a><\/em>, in early 2008.\u00a0 Mimicking the premise underlying each of the audio shows, the book was designed to provide tips for the reader on how to make small changes to his or her diet and exercise routine in order to provide dramatic impact to overall health and well-being.\u00a0 Ultimately,\u00a0<em>Fitness Attack <\/em>made the Amazon Best-Selling list in the Family Health Section and continues to be a popular purchase by consumers. Her second book, <em><a title=\"health and fitness tip book\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Fitness-Attack-Made-Too-Easy\/dp\/0557693233\/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1376344188&amp;sr=8-2&amp;keywords=fitness+made+too+easy\">Fitness Made Too Easy<\/a><\/em>, was published in 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Due to Amy\u2019s successful shows, she was approached to work with a prominent online entertainment network, BiteSizeTV (then Mevio), as a network producer.\u00a0 Responsibilities included scouting, acquiring and creating shows, running castings, producing and directing productions, network lineup organization and scheduling, talent relations, as well as spending more time in front of the camera.<\/p>\n<p>In 2011, Amy founded a video workout training plan that focuses on 10 minute circuit training workouts with guidance from an online trainer. In addition to the the workouts, she has also created an Exercise (Video) Dictionary, EverydayBetter.<\/p>\n<p>Amy Mac, founder and spokesperson of\u00a0<em><a title=\"free fitness videos health articles\" href=\"http:\/\/www.withamymac.com\">With Amy Mac<\/a><\/em>, has dedicated the previous 8 years to providing consumers and clients with information about achieving and maintaining a healthy and fit lifestyle.\u00a0 Amy has dedicated herself to thoroughly researching and evaluating health and fitness information in order to ensure that she provides consumers with only the most reliable and well-founded material available.\u00a0 She has worked tirelessly to dispense this information through a variety of media sources, including online, broadcast television, Sirius Satellite, and Tivo.<\/p>\n<p>Amy currently resides in Nashville, TN with her husband and son, Oliver. She is a fitness expert for NewsChannel 5 in Nashville and continues to produce fitness content for her sites and show.
