Super Busy? You just need a little Zen…

super-busyHow many of you need to be reminded to take a few minutes for yourself?  Or even just to take a deep breath and relax?  I’ve spent my whole life in ‘go-mode’ and I’m not even sure I really know how to turn it off.  The thing is, I love what I do and can just keep doing it and never get bored.  However, I need to take a step back sometimes and remind myself to ‘be present’ instead of always thinking of the next step.  Every now and then I’ll take a nap in the sun and wake up feeling refreshed, energized and ready to go but does that count as enjoying life?  I’m sad and glad that I’m not the only one that has this issue and that there are people out there to remind me to be mindful and even give me the step by step how-to.  I try to read the Zen Habits blog when I can and thought that this article was worth passing on.

The idea of being mindful — being present, being more conscious of life as it happens — seems a bit impossible to many of the super busy.

But not only is it possible, I’d submit that it’s desirable, and that it’ll help the busy (and non-busy) achieve their goals and enjoy life more fully.
