… only 41 days until the book release!
FITNESS SLUMP: GET FOCUSED
If you’re not used to a fitness routine or if you’ve let exercise and diet slide, getting started or getting back on track can sometimes be overwhelming. Maybe you want to eat right, go to the gym, get more sleep, get back on the bike, stop drinking coffee, cut out sweets, or any number of different things.
We can all name the things we know we should or shouldn’t be doing, but creating a list of 50 items you want to accomplish this week in an effort to be healthy is simply not going to help. It takes 21 days to make a habit, so it would seem like the best way to get on track would be to pick one item each month and focus on making sure you do it!
Here is your first challenge: pick one thing for this month that you think is reasonable, and start doing it! It could be as simple as:
- I’m going to walk the dog for an extra 20 minutes every day.
- I’m going to add a serving of vegetables to my dinner every night.
- I’m going to pick one of Amy Mac’s Fit Tips (other than this one) to incorporate into my daily life for this month. (What? I can’t shamelessly self-promote?)
Will doing this get you into supermodel status by swimsuit season? No. But, setting a small goal will get you started, put you on the right course and make a difference in the long-run.
