Hip Flexor Stretch
Posted by amy in Episodes, Fit Life
When you sit, the front of your hips, hip flexors (iliopsoas) muscles, tighten up. The same is true of cyclists because of the continued motion of bringing your legs up toward your body, therefore shortening the muscle. (This applies to other sports and activities as well.) So the point is, if you sit or if you workout, you should stretch the hip muscles. They need to be stretched to maintain proper posture and body alignment and to help prevent injury. Here is an easy hip flexor stretch that you can add to the end of your workout.
