Would you pay $3 for a virtual trainer?

February 26, 2008

mypypeline.pngMyPypeline.com launched the beta version of their online personal training site this week. For $3 a view, you can take a number of exercise classes or training sessions. The virtual and ‘on demand’ personal trainers are becoming more popular by the day. They are convenient, cheaper and versatile but do they really replace the real thing? I’ve found that when training someone, its the feedback that you can provide in combination with the program that you design that achieves results. At the same time, I have to say that when I’m on the road, this might be just what I need to get my exercise fix. Once I give this a try, I’ll write up a review. But in the meantime…

What do you think? Will these services change the way you workout? Or will they provide a supplement for when you are on the road or in need of a change of pace?

In 2005, IDEA reported back 8% of Personal Trainers were offering online personal training. So there's obviously people out there who are benefiting from this support.

I think it's largely because there's an increasing number of people who know what to do, but need a kick and a nudge now and again. And that's what these clips can do. For basically the price of a cup of coffee, you can start building your own exercise library.

And if fitness DVDs sell, why not these much more affordable versions?
