If you’re looking for a way to add some more protein to your diet, look no further than black beans.  I realize that not all of us like the taste of black beans, so this may be a difficult addition at times.  Even if you do like the taste, you may not want to consume them in large quantities.   Personally, I enjoy the taste, but I don’t necessarily want to pile them on the top of my salad either.

So, what can you do?  Purchase a can of black beans and drain them.  Then, add them into the mix with your ground beef when you make tacos, burgers, spaghetti sauce, etc.  This will let you gain all of the nutritional benefits from the beans while letting other flavors offset that of the beans.  Plus, adding black beans to your meat mixes will mean you’re consuming less red meat, on average,  for the same serving size.
